Mrs. Louise N. Green of Woodbury, CT passed away at Waterbury Hospital on August 3rd 2019 after a brief illness. She was born April 28th, 1925 as one of 13 children, born to the late Albert and Marguerite (Staib) Stock. Louise was raised in Danbury CT and attended the German Lutheran School. She was married to the late George A. Green. After his passing she was a faithful companion to the late Ermine (Shorty) Carangelo.

Louise was an active member of the Woodbury community where she worked at the post office in the 60’s and 70’s and was a member of the Hotchkissville Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Woodbury for over 70 years. At First Church she showcased her talents in the choir and bell choir and held offices of Deacon, Chairperson of Hospitality Committee, Music Committee and Communion Steward. She especially loved making crosses for Palm Sunday and baking apple pies for church pie sales.

Additionally, she was a member of the Nutmeg Square Dance Club in Watertown and numerous bowling leagues. She loved doing puzzles, playing card games, crocheting and making music on her organ. Her hugs were legendary and her care for all was evident!

She is survived by her four children: Kenneth (Sandra) Green, William (Sylvia) Green both of Woodbury, CT. Janice Jeffers of Wilton, NH and Barbara Graham of Meriden, CT. She also leaves behind her brother Raymond Stock of Bethel, CT and a sister, Alice (Raymond) Murray of Georgia. She will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren: Christine Lopes, Julie McGovern both of Milford, NH. Cynthia Smith of Spencer NY, Corey Ward of Kittery, Maine. Kevin (Christine) Green of West Hartford, CT and Alan (Kathleen) Green of Southbury CT, along with her seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Louise over the past several years, and during the final days of her life including the staff at Regal Care (Health Care of Waterbury) and Waterbury Hospital ICU.

The Family celebrated Louise’s life at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home followed by a private burial at New North Cemetery on August 17th.
