John "Neil" Overton, 77, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at his daughters home in Elizabethtown, KY after a tough fight with ALS.

He leaves his beloved cats Bono and Tiger who were like children to him; his son Christopher Overton and Christopher's mother Barbara Overton, daughter Theresa McGuire, grandaughter LeighAnn Parton and her husband Aaron Parton, great-granddaughter Harper-Rose Parton, grandson Patrick Carter, two brothers Alvin Overton and Willis Overton and their spouses Diane and Carol, his nieces, cousins and friends.

Upon retirement, he moved to Port St. Lucie, FL where he had visited often with his parents when growing up. He joined the Marine Corp in 1959 at the age of 18 where he proudly served on active duty for four years.

After serving with the Marines, Neil began work in the business world. He was a brilliant businessman and a very hard worker. His first business was a floor waxing company. Following that, he began working in his family's business, Overton's Seafood Stand. He was well known in Norwalk through the business, which he ran and owned for many years until his retirement.
