“Together Again”
AUSTINTOWN – William G. Dickson Sr., 97, passed away at 6:13 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Mr. Dickson was born Oct. 31, 1913, in Youngstown, the son of the late George and Leah (Hornickel) Dickson.
Mr. Dickson retired in 1969 from U.S. Steel, Ohio Works, where he worked for 36 years as a melter in the Open Hearth Furnace.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Dickson was married June 25, 1962, to the former Madge B. Schuler, and she preceded him in death in 2000.
Mr. Dickson is survived by three children, William G. (Sami) Dickson Jr. of Las Vegas, Kathryn Kiszer, with whom he made his home and Gary L. Dickson of Holland, Mich.; and a brother, Lewis (Natalie) Dickson of Indianapolis.
He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Jack Dickson.
Calling hours will take place today, March 7, 2011, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, where a funeral service will take place today at 4 p.m.
