Kenosha woman dies in blaze CABLE, Wis. — An 85-year.old Kenosha woman died in a vacation home fire on Lake Nemakagon, about 14 miles from Cable, Tuesday 'night. The badly burned body of Dorothea A. Jacob, 6130 Springbrook Road, was found inside the dwelling, according to Bayfield County sheriff's deputies. An official cause of death was not yet announced this morning. Cause of the blaze was also undetermined. Only the fireplace and one wall were left standing. The fire was reported to the sheriff's department by a neighbor at 8:24 p.m. Deputies said Jacob was alone at the time of the fire. She stayed at the family vacation home during the warm months each year and was to have returped to Kenosha with her son, William H., after Thanksgiving Day, The son was to arrive there Thursday for the open- ing of deer hunting season. The Bayfield County coroner was investigating the scene this morn. ing. Deputies said no foul play was suspected. The victim was declared dead at the scene. The fire was extinguished by the Nemakagon, Volunteer Fire Department. Former Kaoshan Robert J. Bauer, Z, also died Tuesday night in northwest Wisconsin, about 20 miles south of Cable. He drowned while ice fishing on Windigo Lake in Hayward, where he has lived the past five years. Bauer, an employe of the De partment of Natural Resources Division of Fish Management, fell through inch-thick ice. A Sawyer County Sberiff's De- partment spokesman said Bauer was fishing for recreation when the ice broke TueAay evening. His body was recovered and he was pro. nounced dead at 6:45 p.m.

The exact cause of death was not immediately determined The daughter of the late Charles H. and Augusta D. (Risch) Becker, she was born Nov. 19, 1896, in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha On Dec. 22, 1917, she married William S. Jacob. He died Nov. 21, 1964. Her memberships included Lakeshore Tabernacle and Past Presidents of the PTA Surviving are a son, William H. two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Lor- raine) Sturman, and Mrs. Max (Arlene) Ludwig; a brother, Rich- ard Becker; a sister, Mrs. Della Howard, all of Kenosha; five grand- children and six great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea Jacob, in 1932; and by three brothers, Wil- liam, Henry and another in infancy. Kenosha News 17.11.1982
