1 Details: Bobby Becker on Facebook 9.10.2020 Ralph M. Becker 82, surrounded by family and his dog Teddy, passed away peacefully, and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 8th 2020. Ralph was born in Kenosha, WI. to Siegfried and Matilda “Tilly” [Lucht] Becker on November 28th, 1937. Ralph grew up in Lake Forest, where he attended Halsey and Gordon schools. In the mid 50’s the family moved their business back to Kenosha where Ralph graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1956. Ralph proudly served with the United States Army’s 27th Infantry Regiment, “The Wolfhounds” stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. After the service, he returned home to Lake Forest and worked for Hough/International Harvester/Komatsu-Dresser in Libertyville, until his retirement. After retiring, Ralph re-invented himself becoming a master home builder for Dickenson Homes, building new homes all over Chicago’s beautiful north shore. Ralph loved fishing, tending to his English garden, Usinger’s sausage, a good cup of coffee, summers in Door County, and just about every dog he ever met. He loved a good meal and was an avid foodie before the term became popular. He could regularly be found dining at Karl Ratzsch in Milwaukee, The Como Inn and Lawry’s Prime Rib in Chicago, just to name a few. Ralph attended church at the Christian Assembly in Kenosha, and in later years became an active member at Christ Church in Lake Forest. Ralph loved his family and is survived by his wife Marianne of 57 years, his son Bobby and his dog Teddy. Ralph was always a consummate gentleman. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father and husband and for his positive outlook on life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A very special thanks to his wonderful caretakers Elizabeth and Norma. The family is grateful for your wonderful care. Special thanks to Christ Church for all of your assistance and prayers, especially over the past four years. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Church in Lake Forest or Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.
