RACINE - Wesley H. Bose Sr., 88, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Lakeshore Manor. Wesley was born in Kenosha January 27, 1919, son of the late Benjamin and Carrie (nee: Schwartz) Bose. In 1940 in Libertyville, Ill., he was united in marriage to Eva L. Carter, who preceded him in death in 1993. Wesley was very proud of his family heritage that originated back to the 1800's. The Bose family was one of the first settlers in the Town of Somers, who initially lived in a log cabin and later built their house on the Somers farm. They were very active in the community. Wesley attended Berryville School in Kenosha. During World War II, he served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. Wesley owned and operated R and K Vault Company from 1957 until his retirement in 1982. He was a charter member of the First United Methodist Church. Above all, he was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed. Survivors include his children, Bonnie (Jerry) Rasmussen, Wesley (Polly) Bose Jr., all of Racine; his grandchildren, Scott (Cheri) Rasmussen of Grafton, David (Beth) Rasmussen of Racine, Michael Bose of San Diego, Calif., Rebecca Bose of Racine; his great-grandchildren, Dan Rasmussen, Jonathon Rasmussen, Dana Rasmussen, Brett Rasmussen, Cory Lohmeyer Jr., Caleb Mayes; sisters-in-law, Rose Rasmussen of Racine, Edna Bagosy of Bloomington, Ill.; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Winfred (Aileen) Bose and Arthur (Velma) Bose. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street, with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to First United Methodist Church have been suggested. Our family would like to thank the entire staff at Lakeshore Manor for the excellent care they gave our Father.
