Details: Lillian E. Swanson ROCKLAND, Wis. Lillian E. Swanson, 88, a resident of the Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem, and formerly of Rockland, passed away on Friday, March 6, 1998, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse. She was bom April 10, 1909, in Kenosha, Wis., to Edward and Bessie (Hansche) Swartz. She married Harold Swanson, Sr., on July 20, 1938, in Kenosha, and he preceded her in death. The couple formerly lived in Kenosha, and moved to Rockland in 1950, where they owned and operated Swansons General Store until their retirement in 1965. Lillian was a member of the Rockland Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Harold C. Jr. (Mama) Swanson, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Lorraine (Gerald) Heckert, of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Alta Smith, of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1956. Lillian loved her garden, and her pet cats. The family is very appreciative for the many special caring neighbors and friends who cared for her throughout these latter years. Funeral services will be held at 1 1 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1 1 , 1998, at the Rockland Methodist Church, in Rockland. Rev. John Brouwer will officiate. Burial will be on Thursday, March 12, 1998, at the Sunset Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenosha. Friends may call at the Fossum Funeral Home in Bangor from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and at the church on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of services.
