1 Details: Paul L. Swartz 1930 - 2009 Paul L. Swartz, 78, of Wilmot, Wis., passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, sur rounded by his family at the Memorial Hospital of Burlington. He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Kenosha, the son of the late Roy and Mildred (Sheard) Swartz. The family moved to Wilmot in 1939 where he helped his father devel op the Fox River Park. He attended Wilmot Grade School and was a 1948 graduate of Wilmot High School. In 1949, he started the Paul Swartz Nursery near Wilmot on five acres which over the years has grown to over 300 acres. Paul served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1950-1952. Paul was active with the follow- ing associations: member and past president of the Wisconsin Nursery Associa- tion, Co-founder and past president of the Mid-Ameri- can Trade Show, Governor to the American Nursery Association representing the State of Wisconsin, member of the Wisconsin Green Industry Hall of Fame, and served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Burlington for 22 years. Paul was an avid sportsman, football fan, and golfer being a member of the Twin Lakes Golf League for over 40 years. On Feb. 4, 1978, he mar ried Vicki Wilton in San Diego, Calif. Survivors include his wife, Vicki; his children, Roy (Barbara) of Twin Lakes, Wis., Sheryl Kasper ski of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ross (Elizabeth) of Randall, Wis., Suzanne (Mark) Paolella of Chandler, Ariz., and Patri cia (Ronald) Sarna of Lake Geneva, Wis.; 12 grandchil- dren, Casi, Kari, Cali, Shea, Afton, Paul, Jaclyn, Paige, Hayley, Ryan, Terri (Greg) and Scott (Maria); four great grandchildren; and one brother, Don Swartz (Jo) of El Cajon, Calif. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John (Alice) Swartz of Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Strang Funeral Home, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83) Antioch, m. Vis. itation will be held from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
