Mr. Raymond Walker Jr. Raymond William Walker Jr., 65, of Thurmont and formerly of Monrovia and Gaithersburg, died March 14, 2008 at his home after a four-year battle with cancer. Born Dec. 17, 1942 in Rockville, he was the son of the late Raymond W. Walker Sr. and Helen Virginia (Duvall) Walker. He is survived by his wife, Amelia J. (Grogan-Shoemaker) Walker; children, Raymond W. Walker III and wife, Lisa, Sandra Smoak and husband, John; stepchildren, Michael Shoemaker, Jennifer McKinney, Amy Morgan and husband, Bill; nine grandchildren, Mellisa, Raymond IV, Curtis, Samantha, Connor, Kristopher, Alexis, Amber, and Christopher; three great-grandchildren, Curtis, Isabella, and Lillian. He is also survived by sisters, Lula Mae Cox and Clara Linda James; brothers, Roger Lee Walker and F. Albert Jackson; his aunt, Linda Allnutt, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and former wife, Mickey Shoemaker. Mr. Walker was employed by Safeway for 32 years and the old PX at Fort Detrick as a receiver. He also traveled the East Coast working along with his wife for the French Co. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Rt. 15 N., Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
