He is survived by his parents, Bill and Louanne Rauen; sister, Jennifer Rauen; grandfather, George Rauen of Albuquerque; grandparents, Ruth and Marvin Schappet of Maryland; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Stephen was a Life Scout with Troup 200 working on becoming an Eagle Scout. His passion was culinary arts and he wanted to be a chef. He was a sophomore at Del Norte High School where he was a member and officer with Family Careers and Community Leaders of America. As a freshman, he was a member of the freshman football and track teams, competing in discus and shot put. Stephen loved animals. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2002, 12:00 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, in Stephen's name, to the Boy Scouts of America, Great Southwest Council, 5841 Office Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
