1 Details: Ann Rible, 57, passed away at home Friday, April 13, 2007, after a 16 month battle against brain cancer. She was born in February 1950 to Isabel and Leo Sankoff at Mountain View hospital and was a lifelong resident of San Luis Obispo. She attended Pacheco Elementary School, San Luis Obispo Junior High School, and San Luis Obispo High School, graduating from SLOHS in 1968. Ann graduated from Cal Poly with a bachelor's degree in political science in 1973. Upon her graduation from Cal Poly, Ann worked at San Luis Obispo National Bank for six years. She then devoted 10 years to being a full-time mother before becoming a classroom instructional aide and 'English as a second language' aide with the San Luis Coastal Unified School District. Hoping to pass on her love of reading to students, Ann obtained her Library Technician Certificate from Cuesta College and worked as the Library Media Assistant at San Luis Obispo High school, then at Laguna Middle School and the district's Instructional Media Center. Along with reading, Ann enjoyed going to PCPA, movies, walking with friends on warm days, and eating dark chocolate. She was an avid Dodgers fan and loved attending games with her family. She will always be remembered by those that knew her for her honesty, patience, quiet determination, strong work ethic, and kindness. SHe provided her family with a wonderfully loving environment and inspired them with her grace, courage, effortless elegance, and sense of humor. Ann is survived by her husband of 35 years, Henry Rible; their daughters Erin and Shannon; her mother Helga Sankoff; brothers Robert and Russell; sisters Jasmine and Caryn; her mother-in-law, Dorothea, her sister-in-law, Becky and numerous other loved ones. She is predeceased by her parents, Isabel and Leo. A celebration of Ann's life will be 7 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Monday Club, 1815 Monterey St., in San Luis Obispo. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ann Rible Memorial Fund for the San Luis coastal Unified School District Libraries at: San Luis Obispo High School, Attn: Scholarship, 1499 San Luis Dr., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
