DEATH OF OLD RESIDENT
Mrs. Justina Leischner, mother of Gustav. Leischner of this city, died at her home, ten miles southeast of this city, Wed. October 1, 1913 at the age of73 years.
Deceased was born in South Russia on December 5, 1840. In 1878 herself and husband came to America and settled on a homestead in the Dry Creek Settlement, Ten miles southeast of this city, where they resided until the time of the death of Mr. Leischner, twenty-one years ago.
Mrs. Leischner was the mother of twelve children, nine of whom survive her as follows: G.J. Leischner, Gottfried Leischner, Mrs. Simon Tiede, Mrs. Joseph Mogck and Mrs. Daniel Boettcher of Parkston, and John Leischner of American Falls, Idaho, Mrs. John Schimke and Mrs. William Isaac, Odessa, Washington, and Mrs. Emanuel Sievert of Richdale, Alberta, Canada. All of the children with the exception of Mrs. Sievert were present at the funeral.
Deceased is also survived by 61 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral services were at the Dry Creek Baptist Church on Monday afternoon and were conducted by the Pastor Rev. F. Herrmann of this city and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.
