BIOGRAPHIE: Die Neumark (poln. Nowa Marchia) ist eine weitgehend östlich der Oder gelegene historische Landschaft. Sie bildete von 1535 bis 1815 neben der Kurmark einen der beiden Landesteile der Mark Brandenburg. Anschließend gehörte sie bis 1945 zur preußischen Provinz Brandenburg (Regierungsbezirk Frankfurt), der nordöstlichste Teil zur Provinz Pommern.
