Pioneer of Spangle Passes Away after a Lingering Illness SPANGLE- Joehim Sievers, 84, passed away at his home on the evening ofFebruary 7, following a lingering illness of 20 years. Mr. Sievers apioneer of this locality, was born in Germany in 1848, came to Americain 1873, locating in California, where he remained seven yeas. He cameto Spangle in 1886 where he became interested in farming, and at thetime of his death was an extensive land owner. He was married here to Ellen Marie Hansen and lived on the farm about41 years. When his health failed he moved to Spangle, leaving themanagement of his farms to his son Paul. Mr. Sievers is survived by his widow, Ellen Marie; one son, PaulSievers of Spangle; one step-daughter, Mrs. Marie Heaton of Princeton,Idaho and five grand-children; Paul and Pauline (twins) and HaroldSievers and Joe and Harold Heaton. Joehim and Ellen are buried in the Spangle Cemetery, Spokane County,WA. There are living descendants in the Spangle area.
