etwa ab 1912, soll Leonhard Lorenz vom Unterwittenbach in das Säghäusle eingezogen sein. (1910 hatte Leonhard geheiratet und wohnte noch im Unterwittenbach.) Um 1914 wurde in der Küche Holz getrocknet, es entzündete sich, und das Haus ging in Flammen auf. Leonhard Lorenz und seine Familie zogen dann für einige Zeit nach Kirchzarten. Leonhard soll aber weiterhin täglich nach St. Wilhelm zur Arbeit gewandert sein, bis er mit seiner Familie wieder nach St. Wilhelm zurückkehren konnte.
