»Seydewitz (Thüringen). Evangelisch. - Thüringischer Uradel mit vermutlich gleichnamigem Stammhause bei Eisenberg, der mit Heidenreich von Sytewicz, 1347 urkundlich (vergl. Beiträge zur Gesch. der Familie von Seydewitz, Kap. III, und Tafel III, Görlitz, Dreßlersche Buchdruckerei), die Stammreihe beginnt und vom 14. Jahrhundert an im Vogtlande und der Leipziger Pflege beliehen vorkommt. - Wappen: a) altes Wappen (noch 1732 geführt): In Gold eine schwarze Wolfsangel (auch in Gold 3 [2, 1] schwarze Wolfsangeln). Auf dem Helme mit schwarz-goldenenDecken ein wachsender Mohrenrumpf; b) nach 1732 wurde das Wappen dermeißnischen Seydewitz angenommen: Von Gold und Schwarz gespalten; imgoldenen Felde 3 (2, 1) Mohrenköpfe.
