Er besaß Biensdorf (Behemensdorf, Behemsdorf), Kleinborthen, Burgstädtel und Heynitz mit Zinsen zu Mügeln und Großborthen (Dohnaer Pflege) Biensdorf ist alter Besitz des Burgrafen von Dohna unter markgräflicher Oberlehensherrschaft. Er war Vasall des Burggrafen von Dohna 1375. Wahrscheinlich ist er identisch mit dem in mehreren Urkunden benannten Hans von Carlwitz, seine Witwe Jutta wird 1403 vom Herzog Wilhelm von Sachsen als direkte Lehensherrin der eingenommenen dohnaischen Lehne mit Burgstädtel und Borthen als Leigedinge belehnt. Die Carlowitze sollen aus königlichem-französischen Blut stammen undauf König Ludwig VIII. von Frankreich zurückgehen. In Kroatien gab es zwischen Scherwisch und Griechisch-Weißenburg einSchloß Carlowitz. Die Bulgaren sangen über Jahrhunderte ein Lied vonMarco Carlowitzo. (Sagenbuch des Königreiches Sachsen).
