Friedrich "Fred" Kruse was one of three brothers (Peter, Henry, andFred) who came to the George area. He was born in Seemoor, Hanover Province,Germany, and came to America in the year 1876. He homesteaded on the borderbetween Lyon and Sioux Counties, and the Homestead Certificate for the farmwas signed by President Grover Cleveland in 1885. Fred was married to Anna Margaretha Buck in Germany. Mrs. Kruse's parents also came to thiscountry a year later. Her step-father Mr. Peter Nintzel died soon after arrivinghere.
