Dave played on the football team as guard. He earned a degree in mathematics in 1933. He married Florence Cohen that same year. Dave then taught mathematics at Garfield HS and was the assistant coach for the football team. His enjoyment of football led to his officiating football games. He later became a vice-principal at Washington HS. Dave loved to tell jokes and funny stories. He was considered the life of the party. Dave passed away in 1960. He was survived by his wife and two children (Howard and Susan).
