Mrs. Caroline Davis, almost 93 years old, died at the home of her son, J. B. Davis, in Omega township, February 9th, 1917. Mrs. Davis, whose maiden name was Crints (correction: Prince), was born in North Carolina, February 17th, 1824, moved with her parents to Tennessee when young, and was married to J. T. Davis, near Knoxville, in 1844, removing to Arkansas about March 8, 1855. They have resided continuously since that time. Mrs. Davis professed a hope in Christ when young, becoming a member of the Presbyterian faith to which she clung continuously until death. Grandma Davis, as she was commonly called, was very proud of her ancestors. Her grandmother being a near relative of General Jackson, whose fame as a commander is well known to all historians. Interment was made at the Camp Ground cemetery, near Marble, on the 10th, beside the remains of her husband who passed away only a few years ago. She was a genuine old fashioned christian, a mother to all who knew her. A pioneer landmark, so to speak, has passed away, leaving behind her as example of which we would do well to follow. Those surviving are R. M. and J. B. Davis of Wolfpen and R. C. Davis of Sisco, besides a host of grand and great-grand children to whom the citizens of the community extend sympathy.
