Gus is a salesman, Mary and Anna are both milliners. They live next door to their daughter, Anna Backer, 37, and her husband, Gustav, 40, and their children, Alta, 14, William, 10, and Jack, just 4 months. Gustav and Mary own the building, it is mortgaged and they are renting to their daughter and two other families. Gus Kampe is still selling soap and Gus Backer is a salesman for a glass company.</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>1930 USCensus</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p>Gustav Kampe, 73, and wife, Mary, 68, live in the house on Sullivan Ave, St. Bernard, which is valued at $7380. They live with daughter, Anna, 47, and her husband,Gus Backer, 50, and their three children, Alta, 24, William, 19, and Jack, 10. Gus Kampe still sells soap, Gus Backer is a real estate agent, their wives keep house. Alta Backer does clerical work for a milling company. William is in school. He is 19 and so possibly in college.
