OBITUARY: 27 Jun 1963; Unknown Newspaper"Martha T. ZipfelMrs. Martha Theresa Zipfel, 78, widow of Charles Zipfel, died at 8:45 a. m. today in Defiance City Hospital where she had been a medical patient since May 7. Mrs. Zipfel who formerly lived on Riverside Ave., had been cared for by her children for the last seven years. during that time she had been an invalid as the result of a stroke. She was born in Washington tp., on May 31, 1885, a daughter of Anthony and Theresa (Mack) Kolb. Mr. and Mrs. Zipfel were married on Nov. 16, 1909, and he died on March 13, 1929. Mrs. Zipfel is survived by four daughters, Mrs. John (Lucille) Hiler, Mrs. Kenneth (Edith) Ehlinger, Mrs. Wilber (Helen) Steinbrener and Mrs. Eugene (Marie) Wolff, and two sons, Robert and Roger Zipfel, all of Defiance; 34 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and a brother, Leo Kolb, Ney. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Zipfel was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a charter member of the Altar and Rosary Society. The rosary will be recited at 8 ;.m. Friday in the Mansfield-Mast funeral ohme [sic] where friends are being received. The funeral will be conducted at 9:30 a. m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church by the pastor, the Rev. John Flynn. The burial will be in Marysdale Catholic cemetery."
