Notes for this person
Important, well learned and rich linen trader. Bought the castle of Horn (on the lake Constanze), which he rebuilt. 1550 member of the town council (Rat), 1561 overseer of the goldsmiths and goldtester. Promoter of the reformation, friend of the doctor (and chemist) Paracelsus. Received in 1531 from emperor Charles V his coats of arms, which was confirmed by emperor Ferdinand in 1560.
