jüngerer Sohn Albrechts II., regierte gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Johann I. die Mark und begründete 1258 durch einen Teilungsvertrag die brandenburgisch-askanische Linie zu salzwedel. O. unterstützte seinen Schwager Kg. Ottokar II. von Böhmen gegen Kg. Bela IV. von Ungarn. O. begünstigte die Kolonisation der Mark und gründete zahlreiche Städte, so Frankfurt an der Oder und Landsberg an der Warthe.
