Flavius Bauto († vor 388) war ein römischer Militär fränkischer Herkunft ín der zweiten Hälfte des 4. Jahrhunderts. Unter Gratian Magister militum, war er neben dem Bischof Ambrosius von Mailand der wesentliche Berater des Kaisers Valentinian II.. Im Jahr 383 schlug er als römischer Heermeister (Magister militum) die nach Rätien eingefallene Juthungen zurück. Bauto war Konsul des Jahres 385. Bauto soll angeblich der Vater von Arbogast gewesen sein, des späteren Magister militum und Mörders Valentinians (Frgm. Hist. Graec. IV 609). Seine Tochter Aelia Eudokia heiratete 395 Kaiser Arcadius.
