Birth: unknown Death: unknown GOODMAN, JOSEPHINE WRIGHT - Spirit Passes Into Great Beyond - Loved and Respected Woman Dies Suddenly Monday of Heart Lesion - Mrs. Josephine Wright Goodman, wife of Frank P. Goodman, died suddenly of heart lesion at her home here Monday evening at ten minutes after six o'clock. She had been sick in bed the past several days but her condition had not been considered dangerous at any time by members of the family. The afternoon of her death she was able to be up, but a short while before the time mentioned, she went to her room and lay down. Soon after, a member of the family spoke to her and receiving no answer, became alarmed and found that she had quietly fallen asleep to wake no more this side of eternity. Mrs. Goodman was the daughter of the late John E. Wright of Buffalo, where she was born and raised She was forty seven years of age the twenty ninth day of January and leaves, besides her husband, the following children: Mesdames Eunis Easley of Lyles and James Funderburk of Centreville; Guy, Sam, Clifford, Horace and Ernest Goodman of the home address; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Runions of Newbern, Tenn. and Mrs. E. S. Harper of Brunswick, Mo., and two brothers, J.C. Wright of Buffalo and Lawrence Wright of Newbern, Tenn. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church and was a remarkable tribute of the love and esteem in which this beloved character was held. Rev. C.R. Wade conducted the service, and a selected choir sang, softly, several favorite songs. The remains were laid to rest in the Centreville cemetery. Active pall bearers were Emmett Thompson, Hiram Barr, S. L. Whitson, T. M. Huddleston, Ed Russell and Sam Carothers and honorary: Sothron Cunningham Delbert Nall, Buren Shouse, Eck Thompson, Jesse Peeler and Grady Carothers. Mrs. Goodman was converted at the age of twelve and joined the Methodist Church. She was married to Mr. Goodman the final day of November, 1891. Her life as a Christian mother is a beautiful memory. Other than the members of the immediate family mentioned the following close relatives attended the funeral and burial: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Goodman and Miss Daisy Goodman of Birmingham; Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Goodman and Mrs. Mary G. Sellers of Mt. Pleasant.
