He came to Texas in 1878 with his brother John Henry and others, settling near Aurora (later known as Boyd), TX. The other membersof his family came seperately; never as a group. Married December 25, 1880 near Decatut TX to Sarah Jane (Tenia) Beeson (born October 23, 1859 near Bowling Green KY; died April 23 1907 at Marlow OK), daughter of Edward Beeson of Kentucky and Aurora, TX by his first wife who died when Sarah was an infant.
