WILL OF NICOLAUS FRANZ MY LAST WILL I, the undersigned, Nicolaus Franz, residing in Dover Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and owner of 40 acres of land, do declare of my own free will and perfect presence of mind, and in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, that after my death, my present wife, Katharina, shall be the rightful owner of the above mentioned 40 acres of land and be in complete possession as long as she lives and carries my name, but shall and can not sell it, and after her death, it can be inherited by our children, the two born to use, and our children's children. But all the land for planting, also coal and wood, as well as everything else, can be used at her discretion and none of our children during the life of my wife shall in any way have or make claim to the land or anything produced on it. Also shall my wife, after my death, be in possession of all that we both owned together: cattle, household goods, seed, and crops, as long as she lives. Then, my still not married daughter, Sussanne, have the right as long as she is single, to go in and out of the house and have a room for a bedstead for sleeping, and if she becomes ill, she can and may place the bed in the room in which there is a stove.
