Family Bible record shows that he with the children arrived in Granbury, TX on Nov. 11, 1890. After Melisa died, he married Mrs. E. L. Blackburn (MB D, p. 123, Hood Co., TX. Divorce recorded in Minute Book F, pages 529-530, Hood Co. TX Lois Floyd Green, daughter of Corilla Nutt Floyd, said she remembers H. J. very well from when she was a small girl in Granbury. He was her favorite. She remembers that they had a swing in the back yard and he would swing her and sing to her. One of his favorite songs was "Jesus Lover of My Soul." She remembers him telling about the Civil War - said at one time he and the other soldiers almost starved to death - said you would not believe the things they ate to stay alive - one thing they ate was rats. Lois also said that the Family Bible shows "Harris J. Nutt with children arrive in Granbury on November 11, 1890. The family Bible was in 1994 in the possession of Glen Nutt, widow of J. Newton Nutt, Jr. in Granbury, TX The book has several pages of information about sale of land by H. J. Nutt to others.
