[Jack Tatum's Family Tree PURE.FTW] More about Mary Polly Dabbs Whitehead; Cause of death frozed to death while walking in a deep snow, She had walk from Opossum Creek, over the ridge to Mill Creek, To see about some sick relative that lived on Mill Creek, And was walking back the snow was deep she got tired and seat down on a log that night was real cold and she was found the next morring frozed to death, [ Jan, 26, 1885 ] Mary had a Mental problems and did not know what she was doing some times, This was told to me Jack Tatum, By Roxie Adkins Frazier, [ Aug, 2001 ] And by Marvin Whitehead, [ Sept, 03, 2001 ] This was told to them by older relative, I had heard about this a long time ago, When i named it to Marvin he laugh and told me how his uncle Solie Whitehead would hide where Mary had died and scared some one that was walking the old trail to Mill Creek, He also told me that most all the old Whitehead was Buried in the Whitehead Cemetery, on Opossum Creek, Wayne Co, Tn.

Birth: Nov. 17, 1842 Wayne County Tennessee, USA Death: Jan. 25, 1885 Wayne County Tennessee, USA Birth and death dates from family Bible. Mary, according to family tradition, froze to death in the woods between Possum Creek and Mill Creek in Wayne County. She had been visiting a sick relative and apparently got tired, sat down and froze.
