[Bill's Nutt.FTW] Source: Mrs. Kenneth Kotzmoyer. Joseph Franklin Crabb was born in the state of Mississippi, March 3, 1856. He came to Illinois with his parents when he was just a small boy and settled in Pope County. He married Mary E. Asbell on December 19, 1878. Ten children were born to this union. When he died on Oct. 21, 1928, there were three brothers and one sister still living. Mr. Crabb was a mamber of Bethany General Baptist Church. His service was conducted by Reverend J. M. Rose and Brother Hickman Joiner. (Mr. Crabb was a Pope Co. resident but lived close to the Hardin Co. line, so many of his descendants were Hardin Co. residents.) Taken from the Hardin Co. Independent dated Nov. 6, 1928.
