[Bill's Nutt.FTW] Marriage Book A, No. 122, on p. 22, Cannon County, TN, shows an Abraham Cooper married Miss Margaret Bogle on 4 November 1839, Alexander McKnight, J. P. officiated. The 1850 census shows Abraham Cooper's wife as Margaret C and the 1860 shows she was Margaret. Was Margaret C. someone he married before 1810 in VA? Or, was Margaret Bogle his second wife? Margaret Bogle could not have been the mother of the children listed who were all born before 1839. Below is a quote from the book: This indenture made and entered into this seventeenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between DAVID ARNETT of the County of Blunt and Alabama Territory of the one part and ABRAHAM COOPER of the County of Wilson and State of Tennessee of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said David Arnett hath bargained and sold and conveyed unto the said Abraham Cooper a certain Tract or Parcel of land containing one hundred acres more or less for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, which said tract of land is bounded as follows to-wit. Beginning at two Ly---? and elm, seventy poles west of DAVID SHELBYS west boundary line and twenty poles south of a small fork of Sanders fork of Smiths fork thence running north nineth poles to an ash and 3 sugar trees, thence west one hundred and seventy seven poles and one half to two sugar trees elm and walnut, thence south ninety poles to a hackberry sugar tree and beech, thence east one hundred seventy seven poles and one half pole to the beginning, to have and to hold the tract of land with all and singular the priviledges and appurtenances thereto belonging or in any ___ appertaining ___ from the said David Arnett his heirs executors administrators and assigns and --- the said David Arnett --- oblige myself to warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land free from the claim or claims of every person or persons whatsoever to the proper use and behoof of the said Abraham Cooper his heirs executors, administrators and assigns forever. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the year and day above written. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Francis Cooper (Jurat) David Arnett (Seal) Ezekiel Alexander (Jurat) State of Tennessee Wilson County Court - Dec'r Term 1827 The within Deed of Bargain and sale from David Arnett to Abraham Cooper for one hundred acres of land was produced in open court and duly proven by the oaths of Francis Cooper and Ezekiel Alexander, subscribing wit- nesses thereto and ordered to be registered Test John Stone, Clk of said court Registered this fifth? day of March 1828 Deed Book M, Page 21, Wilson County, Tn 86 Other such documents can be found in the book.
