Arther L. TURNBOW

Birth: Jun. 18, 1928 Lewis County Tennessee, USA Death: Aug. 29, 2001 Lewis County Tennessee, USA Aurthur obtained his Masters Degree in Education and taught in Lewis County, Tennesee and in Mississippi. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired to the old Turnbow homestead on Trace Creek. Arthur served as Caretaker and owner of the Turnbow cemetery until the Turnbow Cemetery Trust was formed, as well as owned a great deal of the surrounding countryside until his death. However, the Cemetery and surrounding countryside has now passed into the hands of another Turnbow, and still remains owned by the family since 1811. Arthur was the last person buried in the Turnbow Cemetery. He said that he got the last empty plot.
