After his (Francis Clark) death, his widow was married to Thomas Hill, 9 Oct 1861 in Hancock County, IL, by Henry Thomas, Minister. (Recorded and filed 26 Oct 1861 in marriage bookA-3, p. 483 Carthage, Hancock, IL.) Nothing is known about him. His name does not appear on the 1870 Hancock Co.,IL census records as being a member of the household, and she is listed as Elizabeth Clark at that time. In her obituary it said,"She was loved by all who knew her and respected in the community where she lived. Her funersl took place from the residence, 17th and Parlery St., Sunday 2 Feb at 1:30 p.m. and was conducted by Rev. R. Lambert. The remains were followed to the Mormon Cemetey by a large procession of sorrowing friend and relatives and laid by the side of her husband, which had long been laid away." Elizabeth (Hodge) Clark's picture hangs in the Museum in the Nauvoo,State Park.
