Birth: Oct. 10, 1757 Middlesex County New Jersey, USA Death: Jan. 18, 1837 Adair County Kentucky, USA Levi was the fourth of five sons born to Dominicus Covenhoven and Mary Updike. He served in the 3rd Regiment, Middlesex Co., NJ Militia and Capt. Robert Nixon's Light Horse Troop during the American Revolution. He was engaged in the battles of Trenton and Princeton, as well as many other skirmishes. His father and his three older brothers, John, William, and Garrett also served. He and his brother Garrett moved from NJ to the countryside near Lexington, KY c. 1790. They then relocated to Adair County, then a part of Green, c. 1795. They were the first Conovers in Adair County. He was first married to Catherine Dey and had nine children: Martin Dominicus, Mary Ann, Hannah, Nancy, Dominicus "Minn", David, Eliza, Katherine, and Sarah. He was second married to Jane Gilbreath and had five children: Peter, James, Matilda, Levi, and Andrew Jackson.
