Edwin SMITH

Birth: Feb. 28, 1818 Death: Sep. 28, 1898 Edwin Smith was born February 28, 1818 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He came to Kansas in 1857 and died October 28, 1898. His wife Lydia Cook Hiatt Smith, was born January 13, 1826 in Milton, Wayne County, Indiana. She came to Kansas with her husband and family in 1857, from Coatsville, Pennsylvania. Lydia died in Quenemo, Osage County, Kansas on April 12, 1915. Both Edwin & Lydia Smith are buried in marked graves in the Twin Mound Cemetery. Some of their children rest beside them; Hiatt S. Smith was their oldest son. Eva Antoinette Smith, Chester C. Smith and Wilmer Waterman Smith were also their children and are buried in Twin Mound Cemetery.
