Birth: Apr. 22, 1886 Blair County Pennsylvania, USA Death: May 29, 1971 Blair County Pennsylvania, USA AKA: IRA Frank Craine He was the husband of Esther Clare (Nearhoof) Craine 1888-1971 Frank was the son of William Dimetruis Craine and Sarah A (Troxell) Craine (Altoona Mirror, May 29, 1971) Frank I. Craine Of Antis Twp., Altoona RD 1, died unexpectedly at 3:20 a.m. today, May 29, 1971, at his home. He was born in Antis Twp., on April 22, 1886, a son of William A. and Sarah (Troxell) Craine, and married Esther Nearhoof on Nov. 4, 1909, in the First Lutheran Church, Altoona. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Almeda Pelter of Bellwood; one grandson, one great-grandson and a sister, Mrs. Mary Rupert of Huntingdon. A son, Dalton, died in 1966. Mr. Craine was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He retired Jan. 1, 1954, from the Pennsylvania Railroad after 48 years' service as a brakeman. Friends will be received in the Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. On November 4, 1959, the following article appeared in the Altoon Mirror: "ANTIS COUPLE to CELEBRATE 50th ANNIVERSARY -- A quiet observance at their home Wednesday, Nov. 4, will mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Craine of Antis, Altoona RD 1. Frank Craine was married to Ester Nearhoof at the First Lutheran Church parsonage, Altoona, Nov. 4, 1909, and they have resided at Antis for the past 45 years. They are the parents of two children. A daughter, Almeda, married to Howard E. Pelter May 19, 1932; a son Dalton, married Dorothy Shoenfelt in 1934. Mrs Pelter resides in Bellwood and Dalton in Antis. They also have one grandson, Earl Pelter, married to Patricia Shope Sept 18, 1954, and resided in Tyrone. Frank retired Jan 1, 1954, after 48 yearsa as a PA Railroad brakeman. Mr and Mrs Craine are members of Salem Lutheran Church, Antis."
