Mr. Maines retired as operator of the Atlantic Service Station, Walton Avenue and Kettle Street in 1971, after 24 years' service. He was born Sept. 18, 1909, in Blandburg, the son of Emigh and Pearl (Shaw) Maines and June 22, 1929, in Cumberland Md., married Alberta Troxell. Surviving are his wife, a son Wallace L.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother; Thomas, Anabel Tomblin and Ruth Capes, and a stepbrother, William Casper. Mr. Maines attended the Blandburg United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Plass Funeral Home, Glasgow, by the Rev. William L. Kemp and the Rev. Edward O. Bonsell. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral home.
