Birth: Oct. 17, 1827 Cambria County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Mar. 16, 1906 Glasgow Cambria County Pennsylvania, USA Caroline was the wife of Perry Troxell 1821-1909 She was the daughter of John Kuhn and Elizabeth Kuhn Caroline died age 78y 4m 29d.. obit lists death as March 26, 1906 Source: obit, Clearfield Replubican, March 30, 1906 Obit: After an illness of almost two years, Mrs. Caroline Troxell, of Glasgow, fell asleep on March 10th, 1906. Mrs. Troxell was born October 18th, 1827 and reached the age of 78 years, 4 months and 29 days. On August 15th, 1844, she was united in marriage to Mr. Perry Troxell. For sixty-one years they traveled life's pathway together, and their home life was one of unabated love and joy. Mrs. Troxell was the mother of two daughters and four sons. She was a model mother. She was known to too many for the writer to enumerate her virtues. The tributes of her neighbors can be voiced in one sentence, "she was good." Funeral services were conducted on Monday at the U. B. church, Glasgow by Revs. Ibeib and Sible. Interment at Pleasant Hill. Besides her husband, the following children mourn a mother, Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Margaret Mulhollem, of Glasgow; John M. of Clearfield; Samuel of Van Ormer; Jacob of Glasgow; Lemuel of Blandburg. Also forty-two grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. obit Cambria Freeman Ebensburg, Pa. Friday, 30 Mar 1906 Volume 40, Number 12 Mrs. Perry Troxell A brief item was sent last week announcing the death of Mrs. Perry Troxell which occurred on Friday, March 16. Her maiden name was Caroline Kuhn, daughter of John Kuhn, an early pioneer settler in this neighborhood and also a sister of the late well known Samuel Kuhn. Mrs. Troxell reached the advanced age of 78 years, being survived by her husband who is now aged about 84 years; also these children living: John M. of Clearfield; Mrs. Mary Mulhollen, Glasgow; Mrs. Margaret Mulhollen, Glasgow; Samuel of Van Ormer; Jacob of Glasgow and Lemuel, hotel proprietor of Blandburg. Besides these, the deceased wife and mother was the grandmother of 42 grand children and along this line of posterity she left behind her 33 great grandchildren. The funeral at Pleasant Hill cemetery was largely attended by relatives, neighbors, friends and citizens in general, by all of whom the deceased was held in high esteem. Services were conducted by Rev. Baugh of the Lutheran Church and Rev. Mr. Seible of the Baptist Church. Mr. Perry Troxell, the husband, still resides on the old homestead where he was born in 1822 and where his father, John Troxell, located not long after the redskins had been driven from the dense wilderness of pine, hemlock and laurel, at one time prevailing in this part of the Red Man's hunting grounds.
