Elizabeth Jones Stepp (1833-1916) married first John Jones Brown; married second Justice Joseph Miner. Grave site at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery in Transylvania County. 7. Robert Jones Stepp (1836-1864) may not have married. Grave site is most likely the "Unknown Confederate Soldier Grave" on Wash Freeman Road in Edneyville, Henderson County, N.C. He enlisted in the 25th N.C. Infantry Regiment, Co. A, Edney's Greys, on 5-15-1861. He deserted about 4-5-1863. He was "killed" prior to 2-6-1864 while a deserter. The details and the place of his death were not reported. Family histories indicate that he was killed in Henderson County and buried in an "unknown" grave in Edneyville.
