Bluntschli, Johann Heinrich
geboren 9.7.1656 Zürich,gestorben 23.7.1722 Zürich, ref., von Zürich. Sohn des Jakob, Büchsenschmieds. ∞ 1674 Susanna Stoll. 1674 wurde er als Büchsenschmied in die Schmiedenzunft aufgenommen. 1712 diente B. im 2. Villmergerkrieg als Artilleriehauptmann. Er war einer der Anführer der Zünfte, die 1713 ohne grossen Erfolg eine Verfassungsänderung erstrebten. 1721 Grossrat. 1704 publizierte B. die "Memorabilia Tigurina", ein alphabet. Sachlexikon über Stadt und Landschaft Zürich, das bis Ende des 18. Jh. mehrfach aufgelegt und ergänzt wurde. Es lehnt sich, was die Geschichte betrifft, an das fast 40 Jahre ältere "Speculum Helvetico-Tigurinum" von Johann Heinrich Hottinger sowie an Johannes Stumpf und Josias Simler an.
