When he in 1921 by Bohlke Mindrup (his future father) was banned in Brinkmannshof in Leer, Jan got a revolver (if one had not always) and went to the apartment of Mindrup.
Here he called on Gerhardine Mindrup to come with him and finally give in direction of his future father-in this connection now his blessing. This appeared in the end, but then to have made an impression on Bohlke Mindrup, so that it came to marriage and the union of the young people then solidified.
