James F. Reinke age 91 of Waconia passed away Sunday October 7, 2018 atNew Perspectives in Waconia.

Memorial service 11:00 AM Friday November 2, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church (601 E. 2nd St.) in Waconia with Rev. David Erbel as officiant.Gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in the church cemetery.

James Frederick Reinke was born on the family farm in rural Waconia theson of Herman and Charlotte (Ohm) Reinke. He was baptized as a childand confirmed on March 17, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.James attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from the WaconiaHigh School. James enlisted in the United States Army on September 19,1950. He served until his Honorable Discharge in September of 1952.

On September 15, 1953 James was united in marriage with Marcella Jaekeland Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia. This union was blessed with children Bruce Allen and Dean Darrell.

James worked as a mechanic and for a short time owned and operated theSkelly station in Waconia. He also drove school bus and worked for thepost office in Waconia. In spare time James would repair lawnmowers and appliances in his garage.

James was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 150 in Waconiaand volunteered there often. He was also a faithful member of TrinityLutheran Church where he served on church council, and had volunteeredwith painting and lawn mowing.

James always looked forward to time up north at their cabin on the Tamarac River. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards, dancing and reading. James also enjoyed traveling and bus trips with Marcella. He’ll be remembered for his calm and supportive personality.

James is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Charlotte Reinke;son Bruce Reinke; sisters and brothers-in-law Clarice and Ralph Lindner, Serena and Delford Wachholz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ellaand Herman Schmeckpepper, Myra and Elmer Templin, Orville and Anna Jaekel, Leslie Jaekel and Waldo Jaekel.

James is survived by his loving family: wife Marcella Reinke of Waconia; son Dean Reinke of East Lansing, MI; granddaughter Emma Reinke of Minneapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law Roland and Mary Reinke of Waconia, Willard and Darlene Reinke of Buffalo; daughter-in-law Sarah Reinke of Minneapolis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
