Ella Margretha Holthus, daughter of Ernest and Martha Volker Holthus, was born Feb. 4, 1960 south of Johnson, NE.
She was baptized on Mar. 6, 1900 at St. John's Lutheran Stone Church, rural Auburn and confirmed Mar. 28, 1915 at Martin Luther Church south of Johnson.
Mar. 31, 1921, she was married to Henry F. Moeller at Martin Luther Lutheran Church. The first three years of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Moeller lived on a farm southwest of Auburn, Ne. They then moved to a farmsouth of Johnson until 1944, when they retired in Auburn. Nov. 23, 1980, her husband, Henry, died and Oct. 16, 1984, her daughter, Avis Vosberg, died.
Ella was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, and in 1944 becamea member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Auburn, NE. She was a charter member of the Dorothea Wood Circle.
As her health began to fail, Ella was admitted to the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn in April of 1991. It was there that she died on July 26,1992, having reached the age of 92 years, five months and 22 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her duaghter, one grandson, James, and son-in-law, Robert.
Surviving are four granddaughtera Carla Gilliland of Hastings, Ne. Karen Combs of Lincoln, NE. Laurie Britten of Hastings, and Judy Kaufman ofTecumseh, NE. other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held July 29 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. James MIller.
Elmer Schlange, Vaughn Holthus, David Koenigsfeld, Chris Combs, Don Johnson and Lloyd Hoffart were pallbearers.
Mrs. Elmer Schlange was organist and Mrs. Lloyd Hoffart, soloist.
Burial was in Martin Luther Cemetery, near Johnson, NE.
