Gail Harrison, 85, of Pender, NE, died on Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, NE.
Gail was born on March 1, 1936, in rural Thurston County to Ed W. and Viola (Heinemann) Schmeckpeper. She was confirmed at St. Mark's LutheranChurch in Pender. Gail attended and graduated from Pender Public School in 1954. Gail grew out of modest rural Nebraska to educate herself beyond high school and went on to travel to many points of the world. OnJune 20, 1954, Gail married G.W. "Bill" Harrison in Pender. Gail was afive-time cancer survivor that fought the fight and lived the life.
Gail enjoyed knitting, crocheting and many other crafts. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and WELCA. She was a lifelong nurse and mostrecently a Pediatric L.P.N. at Children's Hospital in Omaha.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters;and a grandson, Travis Harrison.
Private family inurnment will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, NE.
