Birth: 1540 Great Limber Lincolnshire, England Death: 1593 Great Limber Lincolnshire, England Thomas Tenney was born about 1540, in England, probably in Great Limber parish, Lincolnshire. He was the son of Henry & Craine Henney. He married in Great Limber on July 18, 1563, Margaret Wood, the daughter of Edward & Joan Wood. They had at least eleven children. From the contents of his will, Thomas was probably a farmer, or yeoman. Thomas Tenney died between June 22, 1593 when he made his will, and November 23, 1593 when it was probated. He was buried in the churchyard of St. Peter's Church in Great Limber. On 22 June 1593, witnessed by Robert Chamberlaine, Brian Liell, John Bennett and Edward Sargeant, Thomas Tenney "of Greate Lymber in the countie of Lincoln yeoman beinge sick in bodie," made his will as follows: "...I bequeath my soule to god and my bodie to be buried in the churche of Limber aforesaid, Item I give to Edward Tenney James Tenney and John Tenney my sonnes XX acres baryle on cane hill xx acres in brakenburgh and xx acres Rie in fedow and brakenburgh Item I give to William Tenney my sonne xx Li. and xx shepe Item I give to Alice and Isabell my daughters ether of them xx li. and xx shepe ItemI give to every of Thomas Harrisons children a quarter barlye Item I give to John Harrisons children eche of them a lambe Item I give to Isabell Corchener a quarter of bread corne and to ether of herchildren a lambe. His will was probated at Lincoln on 23 November 1593 before Thomas Rands, judge, by the executrix, who nominated James Tenney to serve in her place.
