In the name of God Amen. I Kateryne Countesse of Northumberlande widwe late the wif of Henrie the Erle of Northumberlande deceased the Setterday the xiiijth day of Octobre in the yere of oure Lorde God 1542 being holl of mynde and remembrance ordineth and maketh this my testament and last will after this manner and forme following. First I comende my Soull to the hie Trinitie of Heaven to the blessed Virgyne Marie Mother unto Christe Jhu and to all the Saints my bodie to be buried within the monasterie of Beu'lay and in the tombe ther of my saide late Lorde and husbande. Also I will my executors, and by the advise of my supvisor at the day of my burial and eghten day shall be as honable as they cann devyse withoute pompe and to the lawde of God with my goodes not bequeathed and oute of this my will and testament to berie me with and to do all such seremonyes and almouse deds at the saide dais of my saide burial and eghten day as myne executors for the advyse inespecyall of my saide supvisor canne thinke or devyse as is aforesaide. Also I will and bequeathe to Sr Robert Gell my chaplayne my lease and farmholde of Wilberfosse latelie purchessed of Whittrasinge duringe the yeres of the said lease because I will the saide Sir Robert Gell shall singe and say messe yerlie for my soul my lorde and husbande soul and all my frendes soules if the saide Sr Robert so longe do lyve. And also paying the yerelie firmes to the Kinge accustomed and to p'forme and do all other condicions and covn'nts in the saide lease specified. And if so be the said Sr Robert departe oute of this world before the yeres of the saide lease be expired... Aufzubauen und zu sehen, wie Find A Grave über seine kühnsten Erwartungen wuchs, war für Jimungeheuer befriedigend. Jeden Tag gaben Mitwirkende aus der ganzen Welt neue Datensätze ein, tausende verwendeten die Website als Bildungs-Nachschlagewerk, lange verlorengegblaubte Verwandte wurdenwiedergefunden und Millionen von Menschenleben bleiben in guter Erinnerung. In welcher anderen Art von Arbeit hätte Jim einer der letzten lebenden Munchkins getroffen, vort einer Versammlung von Grab-Enthusiasten in einem Hollywood-Mausoleum gesprochen und Schätze erworben, wie seinen antiken Sarg-Schraubendreher (nur zum Einschrauben)? |
