Notes for this person

The evidence for Richilde's parentage is indirect. A charter written ca

1079 (misdated 1076 in the text, 1086 in a marginal note) stated that

Amance - which then belonged to Thierry's granddaughter Sophie, countess of Bar - had been held by Thierry as an inheritance from a Count Folmar, whom Robert Parisot [in 'Les origines de la Haute-Lorraine et sa première maison ducale'] and many others have assumed to be his father-in-law.

However, Richilde was probably a sister of the Folmar whose wife was

Gerberga (not certainly of Verdun).

The wife of Richilde's presumed father Folmar, count in the Bliesgau,

was named Berta.
