NOTE: Martin P-L writes:second baron.1775 born1794 admitted to Lincoln's Inn1797 married Henrietta Maria Vernon Atherton, of Lancs. Shebrought into the marriage Bank Hall,which had come to her mother (nee Legh)from a first cousin,George Antony Legh-Keck.1825 died.They had six sons. The second, Robert Vernon, married inBengal. From him is descendedthepresent Lord. Numbers three and four both joined the church.No. 3,born in the year of Trafalgar, waschristened Horatio and became the bishop of Sodor & Mann.Nos. 4 & 5 joined the army. Major the Hon. Henry Littleton Powysadded -Keck by Royal Licence(as another branch added Lybbe) which his descendants haveretained. He served in the SixtiethRegiment of Foot, the Royal Rifles. His brother Charlesoriginally joined theNavy but transferred to theNinth Lancers, whom he commanded at the relief of Lucknow. Hewas also engaged in the Sikh War andthe Indian Mutiny.
