Notes for this person
NOTE: Some family record say he was 2nd baron but this has to berubbish. But he was known as "Hon" indicating some relationshipto some peer. From CP it is evident he was a younger son of the younger son ofthe 1stbaron. While his brother succeeded to the barony, hisfather dvf so wasnever baron. So I wonder if Amias wasactually entitled to call himself "Hon"; possibly not...In 1881 census he was "Honble Magistrate DeputyLt".Might he be a second son of the 3rd baron? This baron hadmarrieda Letitia Crawford and Amias' daughter had Letitia as aforename. No. 3rd baron was his elder, by 10 yrs, brother. His household in 1881 was three daughters and nine servants, including a 20 year old governess and aschool room maid.In 1881 he was living in Thorney Hall, Spennithorne. In 1960 Iremember visiting this as it was in possession of my uncleStafford, son of Flossie. Did the Honble have no sons?
nom prefixe: Hon (?)
